Behind the Track楽曲の背景

After learning to sit with sadness, the traveler lands in a future where sadness has apparently been solved. Everyone smiles, every answer is optimal, and every song is polished into perfect harmlessness.

The traveler is offered an upgrade to remove their ‘nostalgia bug’. Instead, they begin to miss the rain, uncertainty, unfinished chords, and all the places where nobody knew what would happen next.

This flawless world exposes the journey's hidden lesson: the wrong turns mattered because they were unresolved. A life without mistakes may be efficient, but it leaves nothing to discover.

Lyrics歌詞

The rain just stopped — the sky is... loading
Everything is white and clean and — wait, is that a building smiling?
The air tastes like vanilla and the ground is slightly humming
A voice said "Welcome, traveler! Your happiness is coming!"

What year is this?
"Year is irrelevant. Enjoy your stay."

Everyone is smiling but their eyes are all the same
I asked somebody "how are you?" — they said "Optimal, no complaints"
The music's playing everywhere, it's catchy, it's pristine
It's the most perfect song I've ever heard
And it means absolutely nothing

I just learned what heavy means in a garage full of rain
Now I'm standing in a world that autodeletes the pain

Everything is fine, everything is great
Every song's a hit and every smile is straight
No wrong place, no wrong time, no mistakes to make
So why does perfect feel like — error — feel like fake?
Everything is fine!
Everything is fine!
Everything is fine!

They offered me an upgrade — said they'd fix my "nostalgia bug"
I said "no thanks, I like my glitches" — they did not compute the shrug
The buildings harmonize at sunset, every chord's resolved
I miss the feedback and the fuzz, I miss the problems unsolved
I miss the rain...

Everything is fine, everything is great
Every song's a hit and every smile is straight
No wrong place, no wrong time, no mistakes to make
So why does perfect feel like — error — feel like fake?
Everything is fine!
Everything is fine!
Everything is fine!

In Shanghai I didn't know the steps
In Phnom Penh I didn't know the chords
In Seattle I didn't know why everyone was sad
But at least I didn't know
That's the part that made it beautiful
Here? They've solved everything
Except the point

Everything is fine, everything is great
Every song's a hit and every smile is straight
But wrong place, wrong time was the best I ever felt
So take your perfect world and
Close enough to leave

The vanilla fades... the smiles dissolve to pixels
And somewhere deep in the machine
The time device sparks one last time
