Double the Pump

A diesel fill-up becomes a business problem as distant decisions arrive through the gauge, leaving an ordinary driver to pay for forces he cannot influence.

Behind the Track

At the fuel pump, the frustration stops being merely inconvenient.

Double the Pump comes from my experience running a small business with a Triton and deliveries that still have to move. Driving less is not a simple choice when mileage is part of the work. A rising number on the pump becomes overhead, pressure, and less room for the next surprise.

The song captures the feeling of watching distant decisions arrive through the diesel gauge. I do not launch missiles; I launch deliveries — and yet the cost still reaches me. Ceremonial weight meets danceable momentum, letting the complaint move without making it lighter.

‘Temporary built a house in my diesel budget.’ What was supposed to pass has settled in and started collecting rent.

Double the Pump

‘Temporary built a house in my diesel budget.’——「

Lyrics

Used to fill my Triton up, hundred got me through the week
Now that hundred barely moves the diesel gauge an inch
Some old man in a palace made a bad decision
And I'm paying at the pump like I'm funding his vision (啊?)
Barrel up, barrel up, 又涨价
Economy down, but the pump keep rising (为什么?)
I run a small business, bro
I don't launch missiles, I launch deliveries by nine-o-five

(Fuel flies up, wallet flies out)
(Double the diesel, half the load)
Not mine, not mine — but I pay the price
Not mine, not mine — but I pay the price

News said prices stabilize — that's a funny word
Stable means it doubled and it's sitting there comfortable
Subsidy gone, rebate gone, goodwill gone
Only thing still rising is my overhead and my loan (哎哟喂)
They talk about ceasefire like it's a pop song (好听)
But my Triton doesn't care about the geopolitics
I just need to haul my stock to the warehouse on time
Not fund a war by pressing down a pedal with my shoe

Y'all keep saying temporary
Temporary's been two years now
Temporary built a house in my diesel budget
Temporary's got a lease

(Fuel flies up, wallet flies out)
(Double the diesel, half the load)
Not mine, not mine — but I pay the price
Not mine, not mine — but I pay the price
Whose war? Whose war? — I'm just trying to make the round
