Frequency Ghost

Some ghosts do not haunt rooms. They travel through rhythm: a backbeat that returns decades later, a voice answering itself, a groove that still knows how to make a new body move.

Frequency Ghost follows that signal through four fictional scenes. An unnamed narrator begins beneath a neon moon, crosses a dance floor crowded with spirits, turns accumulated silence into electrical charge, and ends alone before a mirror.

Neon Moon is the first transmission. A stranger appears to carry an ancient rhythm into the present, and attraction bends the city around them. The Mandarin phrase 霓虹月 gives the light its name while old and new move inside the same heartbeat.

In Moonlit Groove, the night becomes playful and uncanny. Yōkai, fox spirits, lanterns, and falling blossoms gather around the beat. Running will not make the ghosts disappear, so the narrator joins them and lets 月夜—the moonlit night—keep moving.

Static Lover changes the voltage. After being quiet and underestimated for too long, the narrator steps forward. Pukul gendang—beat the drum—turns refusal into rhythm: not revenge, but arrival.

The finale, Mirror Frequency, begins with the narrator listening for answers outside themself. Then the earlier voices return: Mandarin, Japanese, Malay, neon, ghosts, static, and moonlight. In the mirror, the revelation is simple: the frequency was always theirs.

Across the EP, the same moon changes form. It becomes city light, silver light, stored lightning, and finally a reflection. The ghost never vanishes. It stops being somebody else's signal and becomes a way home.

幽霊は、部屋に現れるとは限らない。何十年後にも戻ってくるバックビート、ひとつの声に応えるもうひとつの声、初めて聴いた人の身体さえ動かし方を知っているグルーヴ。リズムの中を旅する幽霊もいる。

『Frequency Ghost』は、その信号を四つの架空の場面で追う。語り手はネオンの月の下で誰かに出会い、妖怪たちでにぎわうダンスフロアを渡り、長くため込んだ沈黙を電気へ変え、最後にはひとりで鏡と向き合う。

『Neon Moon』は最初の通信。古いリズムを今へ運んできたような誰かが現れ、ひと目の引力が街の時間を歪める。中国語の霓虹月がその光に名前を与え、古いものと新しいものが同じ鼓動の中で動き始める。

『Moonlit Groove』では、夜が遊び心のある怪異へ変わる。妖怪、狐の精、提灯、舞い落ちる花びらがビートの周りに集まる。逃げても幽霊は消えない。ならば語り手もその輪へ入り、月夜（つきよ）と一緒に踊り続ける。

『Static Lover』で、信号の電圧が上がる。長く黙り、過小評価されてきた語り手が、ようやく一歩前へ出る。マレー語のPukul gendang（太鼓を打て）が、拒絶をリズムへ変える。これは復讐ではない。自分の大きさのまま、その場へ到着する歌だ。

最後の『Mirror Frequency』では、語り手は外に答えを探すのをやめる。中国語、日本語、マレー語、ネオン、幽霊、静電気、月明かり――それまでの声が、ひとつの信号の中へ戻ってくる。鏡が返す答えは単純だ。その周波数は、初めから自分のものだった。

同じ月は、EPの全四曲を通り抜けながら姿を変える。街のネオンになり、銀色の月明かりになり、蓄えられた稲妻になり、最後には鏡の反射になる。幽霊は消えない。ただ、誰かの信号ではなくなり、自分へ帰るための道しるべになる。
