Behind the Track

The first jump ends in smoke, golden light, and a 1940s Shanghai ballroom. The traveler knows neither the language nor the dance, but a stranger takes their hand before either problem can become an excuse.

Confusion slowly becomes charm. The band continues, the room turns, and the traveler discovers the first rule of the journey: understanding can begin through rhythm before it arrives through words.

‘Wrong place, wrong time, I'm fine’ starts as nervous improvisation. Before long, it becomes a way of moving through the impossible.

‘Wrong place, wrong time, I'm fine’

Lyrics

Smoke and light, I don't know this place
Strange music playing, silk and lace
Everybody moving like they know the song
I just got here but I'm singing along

What year is this?

She took my hand, didn't ask my name
Smiled like she knew I'd come 奇怪
Her perfume dancing with the trumpet line
She said something soft, I just nodded 没关系

The band keeps playing like they'll never stop
Chandelier spinning, I forgot the plot

Wrong place, wrong time, I'm fine
Spinning on a stranger's dime
Don't know the steps but the rhythm's mine
Wrong place, wrong time, I'm fine

She's leading now, I gave up pretending
The brass hits sweet, the night's not ending
I don't speak the language but I feel the song

Wrong place, wrong time, I'm fine
Spinning on a stranger's dime
Don't know the steps but the rhythm's mine
Wrong place, wrong time, I'm fine

Maybe I was meant to land right here
Maybe every wrong turn brought me near
Stay a while... eh, close enough

The trumpet fades, the smoke curls slow
The lights go dim... where do I go?
