After watching Lil Wukong's “500 Winters,” I kept thinking about the other voice in Journey to the West: Tang Sanzang, the monk expected to guide three chaotic disciples and a dragon horse through eighty-one ordeals without any combat magic of his own.
So I gave the monk a song. “I Didn't Sign Up For This” turns his pilgrimage into a rap complaint, setting traditional Chinese textures against modern rap, 808s, and sub-bass. Restraint gives way to a full meltdown before one quiet admission slips through: perhaps he really does need those three idiots — and the horse.
It is an independent perspective shift inspired by “500 Winters,” and a love letter to every group-project leader who inherited a team of chaos agents and still had to get them to the destination.

Lil Wukongの“500 Winters”を観て、アルが気になったのは、孫悟空ではなく、『西遊記』のもう一人の人物だった。
『西遊記』で三蔵法師が背負うことになったのは、戦う術もないまま、手に負えない3人の弟子と白龍馬を率い、八十一難を越えて西へ進むという使命。妖怪には狙われ、悟空の警告を疑い、それでも一行を前へ進めなければならない。
だから今度は、三蔵法師が歌う番だ。
“I Didn't Sign Up For This”（こんなの聞いてない）は、中国の伝統音楽を思わせる音色と、モダンなラップ、808、重低音をぶつけた一曲。抑えていた苛立ちはサビで爆発し、ブリッジでは、あの3人と白龍馬が本当は必要なのかもしれないという本音が、ほんの一瞬だけこぼれる。
“500 Winters”に刺激を受け、悟空ではなく三蔵法師へ視点を移した、AruKemistならではの一曲だ。
混沌そのもののような仲間を率いる羽目になった、すべてのグループ課題リーダーへ。

孫悟空がスポットライトを浴びるなら、三蔵法師に回ってくるのは地獄のグループ課題だ。
“I Didn't Sign Up For This”（こんなの聞いてない）では、架空の三蔵法師が、孫悟空、猪八戒、沙悟浄、そして白龍馬を連れて八十一難を越えていく苦労をついにぶちまける。伝統的な中国音楽を思わせる響きと、モダンラップ、808、重いサブベースがぶつかり、抑えた苛立ちはやがて大爆発へ。ところがブリッジで、ひとつだけ都合の悪い本音がこぼれてしまう——どれだけ強い仲間にも、進む方向を示すいちばん非力な仲間が必要なのかもしれない。
