One more option is raised at the table. The executive expects someone to consider it and return with a view. Someone says, “Consider it done.” The minute taker records that leadership asked, and the agenda continues.
The sentence passes through notes, a follow-up, and a work plan. Could becomes should, then will, then committed. Every handoff removes a word of doubt. The subject remains “we”, although nobody has established who belongs inside it.
The person expected to deliver first hears about the work through a Final Review invitation. Their name is already entered as presenter. The calendar offers Accept, Tentative, and Decline; none records that they were never asked. An open question has become a closed record, carrying the authority of someone who still remembers asking a question.
会議の席で、もうひとつの選択肢が挙がる。幹部は、検討したうえで意見を持ち帰ってほしいと思っている。誰かが「お任せください」と答える。議事録には上層部からの依頼と記され、議題は先へ進む。
その一文は、議事録、後続の連絡、作業計画へと渡る。「できるか」が「すべきだ」になり、「やる」、そして「約束済み」になる。引き継ぐたびに、迷いを示す言葉がひとつ消える。主語はずっと「私たち」。そこに誰が含まれるのかは、誰も確かめていない。
実行を求められる本人が初めて仕事を知るのは、最終レビューへの招待だ。発表者の欄には、すでに自分の名前がある。予定表で選べるのは、承諾、仮承諾、辞退。そのどれにも、そもそも頼まれていないとは記録できない。開かれた問いは、確定した記録になった。問いかけたつもりの幹部の権限を、そのまま帯びている。
