At 9:02, the screens turn red. Someone upstairs asks, “Why wasn't I told?” The manager feels the same question forming for the team and almost sends it down the chain.
Then they open the record. Monday names the access problem. Tuesday records the slipped dependency. Each message includes an impact and an action. Beside them sit the manager's own revisions: eight to twelve became eight, red became green, and a decision became something to monitor.
The manager opens a blank update and keeps the risk, consequence, owner, deadline, and request together. The status stays red. Before they send it, a message arrives: “Can you make this green before the call?” The cursor remains over Send. The next choice is still theirs.
9時02分、画面が赤に変わる。上の階の誰かが問う。「なぜ知らされなかった？」管理職の中にも、チームに向けた同じ問いが浮かび、そのまま下へ送りそうになる。
そこで記録を開く。月曜日にはアクセス権の問題が書かれている。火曜日には前提となる作業の遅れが記録されている。どのメッセージにも、影響と取るべき対応がある。その隣には、管理職自身の修正が並ぶ。8〜12は8になり、赤はグリーンになり、必要な判断は注視する事柄になった。
管理職は白紙の報告を開き、リスク、結果、責任者、期限、依頼をひとつも切り離さずに書く。ステータスは赤のまま。送信する前に、メッセージが届く。「会議の前に、これをグリーンにできる？」カーソルは「送信」の上に止まっている。次にどうするかを選ぶのも、管理職自身だ。
